Lucas Gnehm joined the DCM Origination team of Erste Group in May 2018 to strengthen its coverage of financial institutions.

His particular focus is on capital products and capital regulation (CRR, MREL), rating methodologies and credit analysis of banks, capital management, and more recently ESG topics (like EU Taxonomy, CSRD), including the structuring of Green/Social Bond Frameworks.

Previously, he had been a partner in a boutique bank consulting firm in Vienna for 2 years. Before this he had worked for 18 years for BNP Paribas both in London and Vienna, first as head of its German speaking DCM team and then as head of Financial Institutions Group CEE. He started his banking career in DCM with Swiss Bank Corporation in Zurich (Switzerland) in 1992 covering clients across Europe, the US and Asia before moving to London in 1996.

He holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of St.Gallen (Switzerland).
